Welcome

The Liberty Chapel Volunteer Fire Department is located in the southern portion of rural Johnson County, Texas. The department provides full fire protection, rescue, and Emergency Medical Services as a Texas Department of Health Registered First Responder Organization providing basic life support services.

The area served by Liberty Chapel VFD is an unincorporated, 52 square mile district with a population of approximately 6000 persons. This rural area is made up primarily of individual properties with typical tracts containing from 5 to 100+ acres, with a scattering of larger tracts dedicated to farming or ranching. Recently the region also began playing a large part in natural gas production in the Barnett Shale exploration.

The fire department was created in 1979 to improve local emergency response times, due to the great distance from the originally assigned departments. To find out more about our history, please visit the Our History page on this website.

New Rescue Truck

As of Friday, August 12, 2011, Liberty Chapel has a new truck in our station. Our current rescue truck is the oldest vehicle that we have. It is a 1997 model and has well over 100k miles on it. We have gotten our use out of it, for sure. We have little room to spare on it for tools and maintanance on it is getting more and more every year. Therefore, we decided it was time to upgrade.

The new rescue truck has been picked up and is sitting in our station. It is not in service yet as we still have to get all the tools mounted and a few other odds and ends done on it, but we hope to have it in service soon. Check out the pictures of it in our photo gallery at the top of the page

New Website!!

As of May 4, 2011, Liberty Chapel VFD has a new website. This website is designed to provide information to not only the area of coverage that Liberty Chapel provides, but to those nearby and far away. In this website, you will find information about our history, our firefighters, the apparatuses that we have, projects that we have going on and much much more! The general public will be able to come to this website and learn more about those that are protecting their homes and property and responding to their houses for any medical or rescue emergency. Firefighters of Liberty Chapel VFD will also be able to use this website as a training tool in many areas.

The continuing evolution of this website will be no small feat. Even though we start with this basic website that you see here, Our webmaster, is continuing to make upgrades and new features available on this website for both the general public and for the members of Liberty Chapel VFD. So, please, come back and check out our page regularly. Check back for announcements of fund raisers, to see how your department is doing and to see what changes we have made.

Please take a look around our website. If you happen to run accross any errors or spelling/gramical errors, please let our webmaster know by sending him an email.
